Job Summary:
- As the Project Engineer, you will lead engineering initiatives from inception to execution. Leveraging your expertise, you will oversee our capital program, improve equipment reliability, and facilitate new product development. Job Duties:
- Manage all aspects of project management, from project initiation to commissioning and handover, ensuring adherence to schedule, safety, and budget constraints.
- Coordinate project objectives, including scheduling, budgeting, vendor selection, procurement, and reporting of project status.
- Develop and submit Cost Estimation Requests (CERs), including presentations for funding approvals.
- Prepare and review scope documents, specifications, and drawings, supervising contractors throughout project execution.
- Conduct project reviews, stakeholder meetings, and provide progress reports and budget updates.
- Implement a systematic approach to project management and advocate for continuous improvement tools and methodologies.
- Collaborate with regional Bakery Operations and Maintenance Teams to support timely completion of small-budget projects.
- Manage regional multiyear Capital Program, including plan development and regular reporting on project status and spending.
- Liaise with Business Units, Division Supply Chain teams, and Corporate Support Services to share best practices and enhance work processes.
- Serve as a Maintenance Subject Matter Expert, devising engineering solutions to recurrent failures and operational issues.
- Assist in managing equipment supplier-related challenges affecting operational efficiency, safety, and quality.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (any discipline).
- 7 to 10 years of experience in reliability engineering and/or project management in the food engineering sector.
- Proficiency in asset care and maintenance management.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing diverse capital projects, from simple to complex, including feasibility assessment, start-up, and validation.
- Knowledge of current safety, food safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance standards in manufacturing and the food industry.
- Experience applying engineering expertise across functions to support new food development and commercialization, especially in specialty foods.
- Strong planning and coordination skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite; AutoCAD proficiency preferred.
