Project Controls Analyst
Job Description
Location: Altanta, GA
- Create WBS to align project execution strategies with cost tracking, forecasting, scheduling and comparison to original estimate.
- Manage and monitor project budgets, ensuring cost-effective utilization of resources.
- Support the Project Manager as the Project Controls track lead by actively learning project scope and objects, being engaged in weekly / monthly meetings by understanding what is occurring during project meetings and incorporating new information into project forecasts, estimates, risk registers and other financial documents/reports.
- Prepare estimates, budgets, initiate and maintain cost forecasts, reviewing and incorporating monthly costs, conduct cost variance analysis and provide explanations, leading cost impact and forecast review meetings with Project Management.
- Assess qualified/quantified risk analysis to be used for data-driven decision making and developing risk response strategies.
- Assist in the bid process, including bid evaluation, comparison and reporting.
- Review invoicing for adherence to contract and project progress
- Manage vendors to ensure change orders, invoicing and vendor-provided estimates, schedules and reporting support the needs of the project and project manager.
- Settling final accounts and closing projects to mitigate unforeseen trailing costs.
- Positively engage with Customers, developing, growing and maintaining Customer relationships.
- Sound cost management experience.
- Sound knowledge and practical experience of cost estimating and planning.
- Good knowledge of construction methods, sequencing and materials.
- Working knowledge of construction procurement strategies, including tendering and contract strategies.
- Good knowledge and experience of post-contract cost management tasks
- Clear and effective communication skills - both oral and written
- Methodical way of thinking and approach to work
