Job Summary:
  • This person will be expected to perform a wide range of tasks depending on their technical and organizational skills; this includes (but is not limited to) working on the design and planning for hydrologic & hydraulic modeling, stormwater planning, drainage / erosion / sediment control design, utility design, plan reviews, code review, feasibility studies, permitting, and report preparation.

Job Duties:
  • · Manage multiple projects and tasks; this includes monitoring schedules & budgets to ensure effective completion of projects as well as client satisfaction.
    · Meet regularly with clients.
    · Assist with the preparation of proposals for new & existing clients (including estimation of project fees).
    · Oversee the development of Land Development Plans; this includes the preparation of engineering design drawings, technical specification, and engineering reports (from schematic design through construction).
    · Coordinate permits through regulatory agencies for large scale, complex projects.
    · Delegate workload to Junior Engineers & Drafters; this includes mentoring / guiding Junior Engineers to develop Stormwater Management [SWM] strategies, Utility Coordination, and Erosion & Sediment Control [E&SC] Design.
    · Additional tasks may be assigned, as needed.

Qualifications:
  • · Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or a related discipline).
    · 7+ years of professional experience working in Engineering (preferably with Land Development design projects).
    · PE license in VA (we will consider candidates who are able to successfully obtain their PE within 6 months of their start date).
