Target Pay Range: $115,000 - $140,000/year, plus bonus potential

Job Summary:
The Cheese Production Manager provides leadership and direction for the Cheese, Intake, and Evaporator Departments, ensuring production meets quality, safety, and efficiency standards. This role oversees daily operations, manages staff, and drives continuous improvement to optimize yields and maintain product consistency. The manager works closely with plant teams, maintenance, and quality to meet customer expectations and operational goals.
Job Duties:
- Lead production teams to ensure safe, high-quality, and efficient operations
- Manage cheese making processes, recipes, and production schedules
- Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and quality teams on equipment, capital projects, and process improvements
- Mentor and develop supervisors and operators to support operational goals
- Ensure compliance with safety, GMP, HACCP, and sanitation standards
- Monitor costs, productivity, and key performance metrics
- Support problem-solving initiatives and continuous improvement projects
- Communicate operational changes, quality issues, and project updates to plant leadership
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; High School Diploma with relevant experience considered
- 3+ years managerial experience in a dairy or food manufacturing facility
- Knowledge of cheese making, packaging, and processing technology
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles (Kaizen, 5S, TPM, Six Sigma)
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, lead teams through change, and work flexible hours
