Process Tech - Injection Mold (1st Shift)
Job Description
- Adheres to, enforces, and ensures compliance with all established safety, health, quality GMP standards, and company policies and procedures.
- Conducts mold changes and sets up IML automation and downstream automation systems.
- Oversees molding machine startups.
- Troubleshoots nonconforming parts and addresses related issues.
- Diagnoses and resolves basic molding, automation, and process problems.
- Performs IML automation setup, startup, processing, and label changes as needed.
- Assists with the assembly and disassembly of tooling when required.
- Participates in sampling for tooling, resin, and colorant.
- Supports the Process Manager in evaluating new mold and automation startups.
- Collaborates with the Process Manager to review production activities, including scrap rates, cycle times, and automation for IML and parts handling.
- Assists material handlers to ensure smooth and efficient manufacturing operations.
- Conducts daily quality checks throughout the shift.
- Encourages and promotes a culture of continuous improvement.
- May take responsibility for special projects related to other functional areas.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of injection molding processing experience with hi-speed equipment.
- Minimum of 2 years in the manufacture of thin-wall packaging.
- Experience with robotic automation and in-mold-labeling a plus
- Thorough knowledge of mold setup and startup required.
- Understanding of injection tooling components including hot runner molds.
- Processing experience of thin wall food package preferred.
- In-Mold Labeling experience including setup and startup a plus.
- Stack mold installation and setup experience preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Must be competent to carry out food packaging safety and quality responsibilities
