Process Safety Engineer
Job Description
- Perform quantitative and qualitative risk assessments (e.g., HAZOP, PHA, FMEA) to evaluate and prioritize identified hazards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop risk mitigation strategies and recommend safety measures.
- Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of the Process Safety Management program.
- Develop, maintain, and review P&IDs (Process and Instrumentation Diagrams) and SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).
- Oversee completion of PHA recommendations and ensure compliance of enterprise PSM metrics in accordance with OSHA PSM Guidelines.
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Safety Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional certification in process safety (e.g., Certified Process Safety Professional) is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in process safety engineering, preferably in pharmaceutical manufacturing or a related industry.
- In-depth knowledge of process safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in process safety software and tools.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in cross-functional teams.
