Job Summary:
The Process Engineer is responsible for the development of the safe and effective production processes for the assembly of wire harnesses. Establish procedures, assembly protocols, and testing programs for various wire processing systems within an ISO9001:2015 certified setting. Address and resolve production issues through troubleshooting. Formulate and uphold comprehensive process documentation, while also providing training and guidance to operators to meet predefined quality and efficiency goals. 
 
Job Duties:
 
  1. Address component-level issues and rectify production processes
  2. Research and propose capital equipment as needed.
  3. Conduct analysis and generate relevant reports/metrics.
  4. Support production to meet schedule requirements.
  5. Perform detailed experimental testing as necessary.
  6. Develop and sustain process documentation.
  7. Create Poke-Yoke assembly and test fixtures.
  8. Maintain the lab and equipment according to 5S standards.
  9. Develop, monitor, and troubleshoot programs for the following equipment:
    1. Fully automated wire processing systems
    2. Programmable stripping and crimping stations
    3. Programmable continuity/shorts test equipment 
    4. Twisted wire pair equipment
    5. Quality validation of wire harness assemblies using pull force device, crimp height measurement, and adherence to customer documentation requirements 

 Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree in Electronics or similar field of study; or comparable work experience
  • 7-10 years experience with wire harness production equipment and processes 
  • Strong computer skills
  • Technical writing experience 
  • Capable of reading and interpreting custom wire harness documentation
  • Reverse engineering experience 
  • Familiar with WHMA-A-620D standards for manufacturing wiring harnesses
