Base Salary: $90k - $150k (based on experience)

About the Opportunity: Sterling Engineering's client is looking for a Process Engineer with an Agro Industrial background to join their organization. This client is a high-ranking, full-service engineering, architecture, and management consulting firm that has been around for 75 years
Job Duties:
- Lead engineering design and analysis on complex or unique problems, providing coaching and development for less experienced engineers, designers, and drafters.
- Participate in business development efforts, including meetings and presentations to convey technical expertise to new and existing clients.
- Serve as a Project Lead for complex projects by estimating work hours, developing scope of work, making staffing recommendations, and checking deliverables.
- Interface with client team counterparts to develop process designs of varying complexity and coordinate with internal teams on equipment layout.
- Collect and prepare data/information, perform detailed engineering calculations, and write formal technical reports.
- Develop technical specifications and data sheets, perform technical evaluation of bids, and recommend best-value designs for safety and reliability.
- Provide field leadership by checking installations and managing problem-solving activities at client sites.
- Perform calculation checking and vendor drawing reviews while interacting with suppliers to obtain pertinent information.
- Provide guidance and support to colleagues regarding agro-industrial processing requirements.
- Maintain technical growth by participating in professional organizations and technical seminars/courses.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering required.
- 20+ years of experience performing basic engineering analysis and design functions.
- Extensive experience with Process Flow Drawings (PFD) and P&ID development.
- Proficiency in process steady-state modeling (HYSYS, AspenPlus, etc.) is preferred.
- Specific experience in the design, construction, or operation of processing facilities for Corn, Soybean, Wheat, Grains, Brewing, Sugar, Fermentation, or Bio-based Chemicals.
- Experience with the development of process design basis, mass and energy balances, and hydraulic/thermal calculations.
- Expertise in sizing and specification of process equipment (vessels, pumps, heat exchangers, etc.) and utility equipment (boilers, compressors, chillers, etc.).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to lead project teams and interface with vendors.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and auto insurance for occasional travel to client sites.
