Job Responsibilities: 

  • Ensure and improve production equipment performances

  • Follow and update production employees skill matrix
  • Define and update diagnosis tools necessary for production employees
  • Define and update standards operating procedures for production employees
  • Develop competencies of the production unit through internal and/or external training
  • Analyze equipment's performance indicators, define and facilitate corrective actions implementation
  • Support production supervisors and managers in analysis of issues
  • Propose technical solutions to improve production processes
  • Attend project review of new assets and provide relevant support
  • Contribute to new equipment development, reception and validation in production
  • Ensure good working conditions of equipment to guarantee product quality and lead-time committed to customer

  • Know, apply and facilitate implementation of rules defined as part of Continuous Improvement of the plant and its team (5S, TPM, SMED, VSM, etc..)
  • Facilitate workgroups linked to continuous improvement and propose action plan in his area
  • Know and apply environmental rules which are specific to workstation and work environment
  • Clean workstation each time there is an intervention
  • Sort wastes as indicated by internal rules
  • Know and apply safety procedures related to workstations and work environment
  • Support the development of new injection molds by participating in mold design reviews and mold factory acceptance trials.
  • Contribute to the development of specifications for the procurement of new injection molding machines and auxiliaries.
  • Identify, specify and facilitate the procurement of peripheral equipment needed for new installations including (but not limited to) thermolators, water manifolds, plumbing hardware, hoses, dryers, material handling equipment, etc.
  • Perform the initial set-up and establish the standards for injection molding systems.
  • Develop an optimized injection molding process and robust process window based on sound process engineering principles.
  • Document all injection molding system set-up requirements in Process Information Books and one-point lessons.
  • Identify system safety hazards and work with site EH&S representatives to remediate appropriately (?warning labels, guarding, training, etc.).
  • Support the production ramp-up phase for new products and train appropriate personnel as needed.
  • Insure that sample runs are performed according to Sample Request (SR) requirements.
  • Insure that inventoried materials consumed during sampling are accounted for using Mattec or SAP confirmation process.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for existing injection molding systems.
  • Participate with root cause investigations and corrective action implementation.
  • Support lean and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Follow all safety procedures including the use of Personal Protective Equipment as required.
  • Maintain good housekeeping of both office and factory workspaces.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Engineering, technical degree or equivalent
  • Strong math, reading, communication and leadership skills required
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications required
  • Forklift driving certification
  • SAP experience preferred

**Plastic molding is a preferred qualification**
