Location: Webster, NY

The Plant Controller will serve as a business partner to plant and financial management, overseeing daily accounting operations, from project budget management to the plant's operational stages. This role is accountable for the plant's accounting practices, fiscal records, and financial reporting. Responsibilities include general budgeting, forecasting, month-end closing, inventory control, capital spending, cost accounting, internal controls, and business analysis. The Plant Controller will also regularly liaise with corporate financial staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and direct the annual budget preparation.
- Contribute to strategic planning and develop operational objectives aligned with Corporate goals.
- Prepare and deliver plant financial forecasts and projections.
- Ensure effective internal controls, including data integrity, asset protection, budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance with GAAP, SOX, and other regulations.
- Lead communication to clarify accountability for internal controls and ensure processes are documented and followed.
- Proactively develop contingency plans, productivity improvements, and corrective actions to optimize financial results.
- Develop and analyze statistical and accounting information.
- Report on and analyze operating results and performance against budget.
- Perform and monitor monthly closing processes.
- Communicate results to management and non-financial personnel.
- Provide risk analysis for contingency planning.
- Lead actions to achieve targets, mitigate risks, and prioritize resources.
- Provide investment analysis.
- Educate plant personnel on key performance metrics.
- Partner with site leadership on projects to improve productivity.
- Manage and develop the accounting/finance department staff, fostering continuous improvement and career growth.
- ERP implementation, training, and change management experience is a plus.
- Perform other duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Skills/Qualifications Required:
- B.S. in Accounting or Finance. CPA and/or MBA is a plus.
- 5-10 years as a plant controller or cost manager in a manufacturing environment, emphasizing cost accounting, reporting, and variance analysis.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
- Proficient in accounting systems, financial practices, and financial and operating analysis.
- Proficient in Microsoft products, database software, and applicable accounting and financial systems.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
