Title: Parts Clerk
Location: Montgomery, IL
Shift & Hours:7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Pay Rate:$21-24/hr

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Parts Clerk to join our team. The main responsibility of this role is to ensure parts are properly accounted for, maintain inventory levels, and communicate with the Maintenance team to ensure the necessary parts are always available for smooth business operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, an ability to multitask, and a commitment to maintaining an efficient and safe work environment.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintain Bill of Materials (BOM) records and Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) software, including system maintenance for production posting errors.
- Maintain and manage parts inventory, including organizing and stocking shelves, recording parts locations, and conducting periodic audits.
- Perform warehouse/stockroom inventory cycle counts.
- Analyze data and make informed replenishment decisions.
- Utilize internal computer programs to issue, return, and process parts/tooling from stock.
- Issue purchase orders and requisition materials as needed for various departments.
- Request for quotations (RFQ) and compile bid information.
- Coordinate with various departments to fulfill special project material needs, including materials for test products.
- Communicate daily with Receiving, Scheduling, Production, and Accounts Payable to ensure smooth operations.
- Assist with the monthly inventory process, including making system adjustments as needed.
- Deliver parts to technicians or other recipients.
- Immediately notify the MRO purchaser of damaged parts or shortages.
- Ensure proper housekeeping in the warehouse, maintain security of inventory, and ensure safety of staff.
- Follow established guidelines for day-to-day tasks, with guidance for non-routine problems.
- Process manual parts requests and maintain accurate parts records.
- Handle parts defects and mis-ships, and manage parts returns.
- Assist with kitting PM (Preventive Maintenance) and WO (Work Order) parts.
- Operate a forklift or power walker, if required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Experience, and Working Conditions:
- 1–2 years of relevant experience preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to work in temperatures of 40 degrees or lower.
- Ability to stand for 8-9 hours per day.
- Willingness to work 40 hours or more per week, with the possibility of mandatory overtime including weekends.
- Ability to follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Proficient in using a MRP system and Microsoft Office programs.
- Knowledge of inventory control best practices.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 1–2 years of related work experience preferred.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Proficiency in MRP and Microsoft Office.
- Forklift or power walker operation experience is a plus.
- Must be able to meet the physical and environmental demands of the position.
- Experience with Asset or Maintenance Management Software Systems (CMMS) preferred.
