Packaging Design Engineer
Job Description
- Create and update packaging documentation, such as bills of materials, specifications, and assembly instructions.
- Develop and execute testing protocols for packaging components and shipping studies.
- Assess and improve material testing procedures, incorporating new methods as needed.
- Investigate new technologies to enhance line performance and reduce costs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external suppliers to meet project timelines.
- Inspect incoming packaging shipments and maintain material specifications.
- Coordinate plant trials and analyze results to determine packaging suitability.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for labeling and packaging.
- Support artwork approval and layout processes.
- Troubleshoot packaging equipment issues.
- Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 2-5 years of packaging design experience, preferably in cosmetics and consumer goods.
- Strong understanding of packaging engineering principles, tests, and equipment.
- Familiarity with manufacturing methods and machinery.
- Proficiency in creating 2D drawings.
- Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to travel occasionally, if needed (10-20%).
