Job Summary:
  • The Maintenance Controls Technician oversees controls, communication systems, and programming for food manufacturing equipment and support systems. This role optimizes production line performance by monitoring and enhancing programming. Additionally, it ensures accurate documentation of programming adjustments and maintains required logs.

Job Duties:
  • Support installation and commissioning of system upgrades and improvement projects.
  • Improve equipment or line performance through programming enhancements.
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems and PLC hardware, including IO cards and wiring diagrams.
  • Train technicians on Electrical Controls as needed.
  • Perform Preventative Maintenance (PM) Work Orders on control components and enclosures.
  • Maintain documentation of control systems and efficiency actions.
  • Assist in standardizing control components.
  • Keep Manager informed of changes and improvement areas.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams on maintenance issues and projects.
  • Promote company policies, including safety standards.

Qualifications:
  • Associate degree in Electrical, Controls, or Automation Engineering required.
  • 3-5 years of hands-on troubleshooting experience with industrial electrical control systems.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Suite; database management is beneficial.
  • Proficiency in servicing Allen-Bradley Control Logix PLC’s, Panelview HMI Terminals, and Powerflex series variable speed drives.
  • Understanding of Ethernet communication networks.
  • Certification in NFPA 70E Electrical Safety Training and knowledge of electrical standards (e.g., NEC, UL 508a).
  • In-depth knowledge of motion controls.
