Our customer in Orangeburg, SC a global third party manufacturer is seeking a motivated and technically skilled IT Network & Deskside Support Technician to support and maintain our critical IT infrastructure at our Orangeburg, SC facility. This dual-role position blends hands-on network installation and maintenance with frontline desktop and end-user support. - Install, maintain, and troubleshoot Local Area Network (LAN) equipment including routers, switches, wireless controllers, and access points.
- Maintain and troubleshoot Wireless LAN hardware and configurations.
- Support the network cabling infrastructure, including running and terminating Cat5e/Cat6 cables, maintaining IDF/MDF closets, and ensuring proper documentation.
- Coordinate structured cabling projects with internal teams or external vendors.
- Keep inventory and technical documentation of all network components and cabling layouts.
- Monitor and respond to network issues using proactive alert tools and user-reported issues.
- Provide first-line technical support for desktop/laptop hardware, printers, and network connectivity.
- Install, configure, and maintain software, operating systems, patches, and updates.
- Assist with hardware deployments, moves, and upgrades (desktops, laptops, and peripherals).
- Maintain asset tracking systems to ensure accurate and up-to-date records.
- Manage and configure mobile devices (iOS/Android) per corporate standards.
- Build and deploy workstation images using standard tools and processes.
- Support IT ticketing system and ensure timely resolution of end-user issues.
- Enforce IT security policies and best practices in all aspects of support.
- Maintain clean, organized, and secure telecom/network closets.
- Support telecommunications and vendor relationships as needed.
- Collaborate closely with network analysts and IT support teams to resolve escalated issues.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in IT networking and end-user support.
- Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN/WLAN technologies, IP networking, and structured cabling.
- Proficient with Windows OS, Microsoft Office Suite, imaging tools, and patch management.
- Familiarity with network diagnostic tools and endpoint security practices.
- Ability to lift IT equipment and work in both office and manufacturing floor environments.
- Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documentation.
