NPI Project Manager
Job Description
- Create project management plans, including project schedule
- Maintain project schedule and communicate updates/impacts
- Provide formal project communication/status reports to external customers/stakeholders
- Utilize NPI process and manage PM-responsible NPI activities
- Coordinate review of customer contracts and related deliverables
- Review sub-contracts and licensing agreements tied to contracts
- Coordinate project scoping meetings
- Provide update to Production and Product Manager regarding potential project-related production order impacts
- Facilitate creation of mitigation plans for project-related material shortages, quality problems, certification, etc.
- Manage execution of customer requested changes
- Coordinate all applicable legal and compliance approvals for customer visits/training related to Government Officials for the project
- Coordinate all customer visits required for project activities
- Coordinate execution of acceptance activities
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or equivalent training
- A current Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
- 10+ years of experience working in project management, to include:
- Planning and estimating
- Scope, schedule, cost, and risk management
- Driving projects through to completion
- Previous NPI (specifically New Technology Product Introduction - hardware and firmware) project management experience
- 5+ years of managing projects that include product hardware, firmware and software development, as well as system integration
- Recent experience working directly with Product Management and Systems Engineering
- Strong Agile project management methodologies experience, as well as Waterfall methodologies understanding
- Strong experience using JIRA tools for planning and executing the entire project lifecycle such as project initiation, Scrum & sprint planning, resource planning
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills; courage to make challenging decisions; understanding of production process and SOP's
- Demonstrated strong leadership skills and ability to work with cross functional teams
- Coach and develop other Project Managers on Project Management Tools and Processes
- Demonstrated strong attention to details/technicalities
- Ability to work together in a team environment and to manage a diverse workforce
- Demonstrated understanding of scheduling and manpower planning
- Strong proficiency with Excel/MS Office tools
- Ability to travel as required
