Job Description
We're hiring a Senior Mechanical Designer to join a growing Engineering Automation team within a global manufacturing organization. This role is ideal for experienced designers who enjoy owning complex automation and machine design projects from concept through production.
What You’ll Do
• Lead mechanical design of automation systems, equipment, and tooling
• Design and integrate mechanical and pneumatic systems
• Develop advanced machine concepts, layouts, and specifications
• Create and oversee manufacturing & assembly drawings
• Drive prototype builds, testing, and design refinement
• Improve designs for reliability, efficiency, and cost
• Manage project timelines and engineering workflows
• Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing and engineering teams
• Conduct design reviews and implement changes from test/production feedback
• Mentor junior designers and provide technical leadership
• Support continuous improvement and long-term equipment evolution

What We’re Looking For
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Design Engineering (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years of mechanical design experience in automation or manufacturing
• Strong 3D CAD skills (SolidWorks preferred)
• Experience designing:
– Full machines
– Automation systems
– Robotics or integrated production equipment
• Ability to lead projects independently and work cross-functionally
