Sterling Engineering is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a dynamic engineering department focused on the development of mechanical and electromechanical products. This is a hands-on, full life-cycle engineering opportunity, with strong emphasis on quality, manufacturability, and cross-functional collaboration.
Job Duties:
- Execute mechanical and electromechanical product development from concept through production
- Conduct research, design, prototyping, testing, and validation of new product concepts
- Develop technical documentation and support cross-functional teams including sales, procurement, production, and quality
- Provide technical input for Design for Manufacturing (DFM) to ensure product reliability and cost-effectiveness
- Utilize project tracking tools and support document control and engineering change processes
- Participate in reviewing contracts, drawings, and production plans for adherence to quality standards
- Recommend fabrication, testing, and installation processes; assist in supplier selection
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction
- Contribute to meeting department KPIs and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or equivalent experience (required)
- 4+ years of experience in mechanical product development (preferred)
- Proficiency with SolidWorks or similar CAD software
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office and general computer use
- Excellent organization, communication, and multitasking abilities
- Ability to meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities
- Working knowledge of quality procedures and engineering documentation
