We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Project Engineer, Mechanical, to join our team. As a Project Engineer, you will play a vital role in the modification and modernization of electric overhead cranes for the Region Americas. This position involves interpreting customer specifications, conducting mechanical and structural design tasks, creating drawings, and ensuring successful project execution. Responsibilities:
  • Take ownership of the Legacy EOT and Portal Cranes product lines, overseeing all mechanical and structural design activities associated with them.
  • Interpret detailed customer specifications and order documentation to determine the scope of work and develop a comprehensive project plan.
  • Utilize company archives to locate records of legacy equipment and demonstrate proficiency in reading mechanical and structural drawings for such equipment.
  • Perform engineering tasks following established procedures, including creating equipment layouts, conducting mechanical and structural calculations, and finalizing designs.
  • Generate detailed drawings for components, sub-assemblies, assemblies, and installation, ensuring they meet the project requirements.
  • Write comprehensive work instructions to support field installation activities and ensure proper implementation.
  • Take responsibility for project planning, scheduling, design execution, and adherence to budget and schedule from inquiry through start-up.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Structural Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with overhead electric cranes or similar industrial equipment, with a focus on mechanical and structural design.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain licensure is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of machine design and structural engineering principles.
  • Experience in the overhead material handling industry is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with industry specifications, such as CMAA and ASME B30, is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of welding and machining processes is required.

Other Requirements:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with frontline sales, customers, application engineers, and project management.
  • Proficiency in SAP, AutoCAD, Solidworks, and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work at heights of up to 100 feet during site visits for application and commissioning purposes.
  • Availability for approximately 5% domestic and international travel to meet with customers, commission equipment, and inspect products at various manufacturing locations.
