Salary Range: $100,000 - $110,000 (DOE) + Bonus

Our client, a cutting-edge manufacturing leader in Cary, IL, is actively seeking a seasoned Senior Mechanical Design Engineer specializing in Automation and Robotics. This challenging role demands a thorough understanding of electronic controls, pneumatic actuators, mechanical systems, and operator interfaces. The successful candidate will be at the forefront of designing innovative automation solutions for a diverse range of products and assemblies.

Develop and implement advanced automation concepts/specifications, incorporating insights from multiple stakeholders (manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, marketing, etc.).

Leverage expert-level proficiency in SolidWorks to guide the design team in creating precise prototype and production drawings.

Evaluate products, parts, or processes for cost efficiency, reliability, and optimization, utilizing a deep technical understanding.

Set, implement, and meticulously manage schedules to ensure timely project completion.

Conduct thorough reviews of initial automation runs, ensuring design compliance and implementing necessary adjustments for product excellence.

Maintain an active role throughout the product lifecycle, making essential automation changes and corrections as required.

Provide high-level technical support by furnishing critical information and solutions to other engineers, departments, and customers.

Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in design engineering or a related field.

5+ years of recent mechanical design experience in a manufacturing environment.

Exceptional proficiency (5+ years) in SolidWorks, showcasing a track record of intricate machine/systems design.

Extensive experience in laser/industrial welding and optics is highly desirable.

Proven background in designing automation solutions for complex products and assemblies.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with a meticulous attention to detail.

Familiarity with emerging technologies and trends in automation and robotics.
