Salary:$60k-$80k/yr.
Sterling Engineering is looking for a Mechanical Engineer for a leading fabrication company in Bensenville, IL. This is a great opportunity to work with a company that has great tenure and loves to promote from within.
- Provide guidance and technical assistance to Value Streams during fabrication.
- Minimize waste and keep projects flowing by following up with Value Streams.
- Ensure project progress and make adjustments to streamline the process, improve gross margin and quality.
- Collaborate with VSLs, QC, and shopfloor on process changes to improve the standard process and document as needed.
- Work directly with fabricators to ensure quality and efficiency of final products.
- Resolve questions and problems including Kickbacks and Customer Returns to keep projects on-track and in tolerance.
- Review Kickbacks and Customer Returns for process improvements, preventative action, use of GD&T, and critical dimensions.
- AS in Engineering Technology, Manufacturing, Advanced CAD, or 5 years of metal fabrication engineering experience
- Extensive Blueprint experience
- Understand the fabrication process and shop floor practices
- Ability to plan fabrication processes and shop floor processes
- Understand the capabilities of the fabrication equipment
