Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage concurrent projects and tasks effectively and efficiently while problem-solving issues that arise during production
- Act as the Mechanical Engineering lead, collaborating with Project Managers and cross-functional teams to ensure timely project success
- Design and detail automation systems, including machined and formed components, parts conveyance, part fixturing, vision systems, and articulating robot arms
- Perform robot reach and interference studies, design pneumatics panels, and work directly with customers on design, function, and cost
- Design, build, and detail Bills of Materials (BOMs) while maintaining budgetary parameters without sacrificing creativity and customization
- Release drawings promptly to support the Materials and Production Teams
- Contribute to the success of the Mechanical Engineering Team by fostering a collaborative environment.
- Assist in production as workload demands
- 5+ years of automation design or capital equipment design experience
- Proficiency in 3D solid modeling with 10+ years of experience in part modeling, assemblies, drafting, and detailing
- Experience working on or with robotic systems preferred
- Previous experience in AutoCAD 2D/3D and SolidWorks Enterprise PDM preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics preferred
- Proven ability to design, build, and detail custom automation or machinery worth $1,000,000+
