Title: Mechanical Engineer
Location: Near Aurora, IL
Hire Type: Contract to Hire
Salary: $65k- $75k/yr.

Sterling Engineering is looking for a Mechanical Engineer leading material handling solutions manufacturer. This is a great opportunity to work with a client who loves to promote from within and have a great culture! 

Job Duties:
  • Provide technical support for dust suppression and conveyor technologies.
  • Develop and integrate control systems (motor controls, VFDs, PLCs).
  • Manage project timelines, scope, and budgets for system installations.
  • Conduct site visits to assess and optimize customer systems.
  • Design electrical and plumbing integration for automation systems.
  • Prepare Assessment Reports, proposals, and cost estimates.
  • Assist with 3D point cloud scanning for design work.
  • Research and implement new technologies to improve efficiency.
  • Support cross-functional teams and facilitate project meetings.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Technology, or related field.
  • 2+ years of engineering or technical project management experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and ERP systems (Epicor, JDE, SAP a plus).
  • Strong problem-solving, project management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects.
  • Willing to travel up to 35% and work in industrial environments.
