Mechanical Engineer II  Full-time 

Pay Range $100-$115k depending on experience

Job Description: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mechanical Engineer II to join our team. The Mechanical Engineer II will be responsible for the design and development of automated equipment in accordance with customer and internal specifications. The ideal candidate should be able to work independently as well as collaboratively with other team members.

As a Mechanical Engineer II, you will be responsible for leading small to medium size machine projects ($550K - $1.5M), or any size replication project, and executing complex designs that meet functional, robust and cost-effective design standards. You will also be required to design robotic solutions, servo and air-operated stations, and make changes to existing designs. You will research and specify appropriate materials and purchased components, create detail designs, assembly drawings, bill of materials, organize release packages and update drawings. You will also lead internal and customer design reviews, prepare pneumatic and timing diagrams, and select appropriate sensors.

As part of your role, you will work with suppliers to find and develop the most functional and economical solutions to design issues, and problem-solve design or detail issues, updating all appropriate documentation. You will also communicate ideas and comprehend information both verbally and in written form, and assimilate well within a team and exhibit objectivity and openness to others’ views. You will be expected to follow all policy and procedures to adhere to International Standardization Organization (ISO) 9001 certification requirements, and help guide and mentor Level I Mechanical Engineers with the execution of their designs and projects.

Secondary responsibilities include contributing to the development and maintenance of internal and international standards, prioritizing, planning, and organizing work and workspace, full compliance to the terms and conditions within the employee signed work from home policy, setting and maintaining departmental goals in keeping with Company objectives, supporting and participating in quality management program, providing necessary documentation and support for machinery operating manuals, making recommendations for quality and cost improvements, keeping abreast of current product developments, traveling or extending workday if required, adhering to International Standardization Organization (ISO) standards, and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering
  • Proficiency in design tools and methodologies
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

The ideal candidate should have experience in the design and development of automated equipment and robotics, cycle time analysis, and functional design. Experience with FMEA is a plus. The candidate should also have excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other team members.
