Entry-Level Mechanical Engineer (Automation Machinery)
Pay Range: $25-$32 per hour based on experience
Location: Itasca, IL
Job Type: Full-time - Contract to hire.
Job Summary: As an Entry-Level Mechanical Engineer specializing in Automation Machinery, you will play a vital role in the design, development, and implementation of automated systems and machinery. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with engineers, technicians, and other professionals to create efficient and reliable automated solutions. Responsibilities:
- Design and Development: Collaborate with senior engineers to design and develop automated machinery systems, ensuring compliance with project requirements, industry standards, and safety regulations.
- Component Selection: Assist in selecting appropriate components, such as motors, sensors, actuators, and controllers, for the automation machinery system based on technical specifications and performance requirements.
- CAD Modeling: Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to create detailed 3D models and assemblies of mechanical components, sub-assemblies, and complete automation systems.
- Documentation: Prepare technical documentation, including engineering drawings, specifications, and test reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
- Collaboration and Support: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers and software developers, to integrate mechanical components with electrical and control systems, ensuring seamless operation and synchronization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and concepts.
- Proficiency in CAD software for 3D modeling and design (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
- Basic knowledge of automation systems, robotics, and industrial machinery.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and materials.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
