Mechanical Designer
Job Description
- 1-year contract with the opportunity for extension.

- Work on high-impact, cutting-edge projects at a nationally recognized government research facility.
- 30-35/hr pay rate
- Develop 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings using Siemens NX for mechanical components and systems.
- Collaborate with engineers and project teams to support design, prototyping, and testing efforts.
- Review and interpret technical specifications, blueprints, and engineering documentation.
- Apply design standards, tolerances, and best practices to ensure manufacturability and functionality.
- Participate in design reviews and provide input to improve efficiency, performance, and accuracy.
- Support revisions and updates to existing designs as required.
- Maintain proper documentation and version control for all CAD models and related files.
- Proficiency in Siemens NX for 3D modeling, assemblies, and drafting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace, or related field preferred.
- Experience with design for manufacturing, prototyping, and assembly processes.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or collaboratively in a team environment.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
