Mechanical Designer/Industrial
Job Description
Location: Remote
Hire Type: Contract to Hire
Salary: $35–$60/hr (depending on experience/location)

- Utilize SmartPlant 3D or similar design software to create 3D equipment models based on equipment drawings
- Perform early-stage project design work
- Develop and maintain 3D models for mechanical systems and piping
- Create and interpret P&IDs, schematics, and detailed design drawings
- Route piping within 3D design software and support piping layout development
- Support multiple projects as needed
- Minimum 4 years of mechanical design experience, including 3D modeling and design documentation
- Strong knowledge of piping systems and piping support design
- Experience with 3D piping design and routing required
- Experience with mechanical systems for data centers (chilled water systems, CRAH units, CDUs) highly preferred
- Experience drafting P&IDs, schematics, and related drawings
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in CAD or related field preferred with 4+ years of experience
- High School diploma or GED with 8+ years of relevant experience considered
- Proficiency in SmartPlant 3D preferred; experience with AutoCAD and MicroStation is a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams)
- Ability to work onsite if located near an office or fully remote
