Mechanical Design Engineer
Job Description
- Design, develop, and analyze mechanical systems and components based on project specifications and requirements.
- Conduct feasibility studies, engineering calculations, and technical assessments to ensure system performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical engineers, designers, and technicians to integrate mechanical designs into larger projects.
- Perform prototype testing, data analysis, and provide feedback for design improvements.
- Utilize Inventor or SolidWorks software to create detailed engineering drawings, 3D models, and simulations.
- Oversee fabrication, installation, and testing of mechanical systems to ensure adherence to design standards.
- Lead and manage engineering projects from initiation through completion, ensuring all project objectives are met.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budgets.
- Coordinate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies to avoid delays and cost overruns.
- Communicate project status and updates to stakeholders and management.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality control protocols throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare technical documentation, project reports, and presentations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Must have at least 5+ years of experience in mechanical / machine design engineering
- Should have a background in project management as well.
- Proficiency in Inventor or SolidWorks CAD software.
- Strong understanding of mechanical principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Proven experience managing engineering projects from start to finish.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- PMP certification or other project management certifications (preferred, but not required).
- Familiarity with ERP systems and project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira).
- Hands-on experience with prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting mechanical systems.
