Mechanical Assembler
Job Description
- Analyzes assembly drawings and specifications.
- Fastens components or parts together, using hand tools.
- Positions and aligns components for assembly, manually or with hoist.
- Reworks, repairs, and replaces damaged parts or assemblies.
- Lays out, drills, reams, taps, and cuts parts for assembly.
- Fastens and installs piping, fixtures, wiring, and electrical components to specifications.
- Inspects and tests parts and accessories for leakage, defect, or functionality, using test equipment.
- Sets and verifies clearance of parts.
- Operates machine to verify functioning, machine capabilities, and conformance to customer's specifications.
- Maintains and lubricates parts and components.
- Troubleshoot issues and work with the appropriate resource(s) (i.e. Supervisor, Engineering, Machining, etc.) to resolve
- Effectively manage work time and be self-directed in order to meet production needs/schedules
- 2 - 5 years of experience with mechanical assembly or working in a tool room
- Read and interpret engineering drawings. Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
- Calibrate and utilize torque wrench to specifications.
- HS diploma or equivalent. Post-high school education/training preferred.
