Title: Materials Planner/Scheduler - Manufacturing - 100% Onsite

Overview: Sterling Engineering / Staffing is currently looking for a Materials Planner/Scheduler - Manufacturing for one of our clients in the Ave Maria, FL area. Job Description:
Support Operations through analytical and administrative tasks focused on material and production requirements and schedules. Work is of a technical nature with decisions made within the limits of general procedures and specifications. Some direct guidance received from direct supervisor. Bridges the gap between Engineered and Manufactured products to practical applications; identifies gap requirements, develops supply plans, and manages those plans from cradle to grave.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform functions to plan, coordinate, control, and direct activities involving the release of production order material
- Communicate supply plans through ERP updates, reports, and various communication tools to production, planning, warehouse, quality, and engineering departments
- Review, monitor, and complete order follow ups to assure manufacturing plans are 100% achievable based upon the availability of materials
- Review Bill of Material Changes and Manufacturing Change Requests to ensure compliance, accurate material requirements, and the minimization of waste
- Receives orders from customers, schedules orders, and provides customer service
- Act as a liaison to ensure alignment between the manufacturing, planning, warehouse, and quality departments
- Daily monitoring of material shortages with production, quality, and supplier planning teams
- Analyze order requirements based on materials availability, routings, alternative manufacturing routings, and demonstrated capacity
- Performs physical inventory and adjust materials plan
- Monitor and communicate order status, lead special projects as assigned, and drive process improvement
- Assist in inventory management by releasing material to production orders
- Monitor and communicate snag or defect issues with production and quality
- Research order and delivery discrepancies and resolve MRP related issues
- Take appropriate corrective actions to prevent similar issues
- Works with higher levels of management to determine needs of product to customers and manages processes to complete those needs
Education/Training:
- Associate's Degree preferred; Minimum: High School Diploma or GED
- Level I: 5+ years of experience on the shop floor as a lead/supervisor, including 1-3 years of experience in a supply chain environment
- Level II: 1-3 years of experience on the shop floor and/or working in a customer service environment; experience in a supply chain environment
- Strong MS Excel and ERP or MRP system skills
- Strong MS Office (Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint) skills
- Solid problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills
- Ability to work in a self-directed and team-based environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to negotiate solutions with suppliers and internal customers
Qualifications and Experience:
Preferred Skills:
- Prefer degree in Business or Supply Chain
- Planning in a low volume, highly complex BOM environment
- Experience in mechanical, electrical, welding manufacturing environment
- Experience working with SAP or LN systems
- Six Sigma training
