Job Title: Operations/Manufacturing Director
Location: 25 miles North of Charleston, SC
Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire

Job Summary:
As the Operations/Manufacturing Director, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing all aspects of manufacturing operations to ensure exceptional quality, safety, and efficiency. You will work closely with executive leadership to drive strategic initiatives, align manufacturing goals with company objectives, and continuously improve processes across multiple production facilities. Your leadership will foster a culture of operational excellence, focusing on Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and cost-effective solutions.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the manufacturing operations across all facilities, maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to streamline production processes, reduce waste, and enhance overall operational performance.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to align manufacturing strategies with business goals.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, promoting Lean manufacturing principles and sustaining them across the organization.
  • Oversee manufacturing engineering functions, ensuring all equipment, tooling, and processes are optimized for maximum productivity.
  • Lead operational excellence initiatives to drive improvements in output, reduce costs, and optimize efficiency across production facilities.
  • Establish and manage Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor and improve production performance, quality, and efficiency.
  • Work with supply chain, engineering, and R&D teams to support the development and scaling of new products.
  • Implement and maintain safety programs that meet regulatory standards, ensuring a safe work environment.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop plant managers, production supervisors, and manufacturing engineers to meet production targets and achieve business results.
  • Plan and manage capital investments for equipment upgrades, facility expansions, and technology improvements.
  • Manage budgeting and forecasting for the manufacturing division, ensuring cost control measures are effectively implemented.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field (Master’s degree or MBA preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in manufacturing leadership, with a preference for experience in aerospace, defense, or military manufacturing.
  • Proven track record in implementing continuous improvement initiatives and driving operational excellence.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in managing large-scale production operations and implementing strategic changes in manufacturing processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other operational efficiency methodologies.
