Manufacturing Engineering Manager
Job Description
- Lead Manufacturing Engineering team (hiring, training, performance evaluation, work schedules, policy communication).
- Oversee implementation of programs to improve quality, productivity, efficiency, and cost reduction.
- Create and maintain documentation (work instructions, process flows, SOPs) for consistent manufacturing.
- Guide development of engineering standards via work instructions and process specifications.
- Build and evaluate router and BOM requirements for manufacturing orders.
- Conduct time studies and continuous improvement activities; analyze variance from labor rates/standards.
- Provide MRB support for failure analysis and internal product rework.
- Guide design/implementation of work cells, lines, devices, and fixtures for efficiency.
- Ensure availability of tooling/equipment; factor costs into budgets if necessary.
- Coordinate with operations, NPD, and supply chain to address capacity shortfalls.
- Collaborate with finance to justify and reconcile CAPEX projects.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives and critical thinking (RCCM).
- BS Degree in Manufacturing/Industrial Technology, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
- 10+ years’ experience in discrete manufacturing processes (assembly, CNC machining, welding, etc.).
- Lean Manufacturing experience with root cause analysis and critical thinking.
- ISO knowledge and exposure.
- Proficient in AutoCAD/DraftSight and SolidWorks; ability to interpret technical drawings.
- Understanding of plant layout and product flow.
