Location: Elmhurst, IL 
Hire Type: Contract (6+ months) 
Salary: $40-60/hrly
Must have: SolidWorks Experience 
Misc: This role is 100% on-site 

Job Summary:
We are looking for a contract Manufacturing Engineer to lead and support a new product launch. This role will involve collaborating across engineering, production, and vendor teams to ensure successful design transfer and manufacturability. The ideal candidate will bring experience with SolidWorks, Six Sigma principles, electrical diagnostics, and hands-on fabrication support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the launch of a new product from engineering to manufacturing.
  • Update and create manufacturing documentation, including ECNs, sheet metal drawings, and sub-assembly instructions.
  • Design and implement fixtures and jigs to improve assembly efficiency and quality.
  • Interpret and modify electrical wiring diagrams; assist with electrical testing using tools such as volt meters.
  • Identify and implement process improvements using Six Sigma methodology.
  • Communicate effectively with vendors to resolve material, component, or production issues.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to resolve design for manufacturability (DFM) issues.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks (3D modeling, sheet metal design).
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems; able to read schematics and use diagnostic tools.
  • Familiar with Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Experience designing assembly jigs/fixtures.
