Manufacturing Engineer
Job Description
Location: Bensenville, IL
Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision (while on contract)
Pay: $43–$48/hour
- Manage and maintain standard costing and estimating for machined parts using ERP systems.
- Develop process routings, optimize machining processes, and support quoting efforts.
- Support sales and customer service teams with technical expertise during quoting and pre-order phases.
- Manage job planning activities including process planning, revision control, tooling/fixture design, and technical clarifications.
- Identify and drive process improvements, value-added engineering ideas, and cross-functional project reviews.
- Complete CNC programming assignments for lathes and mills, including toolpath optimization and tool selection using Mastercam.
- Support tooling inventory systems and production programming needs.
- Provide in-process technical support to production, purchasing, and quality teams.
- Assist with troubleshooting manufacturing issues and equipment maintenance coordination.
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects such as 5S, Kaizen, and problem-solving events.
- Research and implement new technologies, tooling, and machining techniques to optimize production.
- Develop SOPs for manufacturing processes and ensure safe operations.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience.
- 3–5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, CNC programming, and machining.
- Experience with G-code, Mazatrol, and Mastercam programming, especially for complex lathe operations (live tooling, sub-spindles, Y-axis milling, multi-axis).
- Strong knowledge of materials such as stainless steel, titanium, aluminum, and mild steels.
- Experience with Mazak and DMG Mori machines.
- Strong project management, quoting, and workflow planning skills.
