Manual Machinist
Job Description
Hire Type: Contract-to-Hire or Direct-Hire
Pay Range: $35.00–$40.00/hour (some flexibility based on experience)
- Set up and operate manual metalworking equipment to repair, fabricate, and modify parts and tooling
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and equipment manuals
- Select, align, and secure fixtures, cutting tools, and materials safely and accurately
- Perform precision measurements using micrometers, dial indicators, and related instruments
- Accurately estimate the time and materials required for jobs
- Complete required documentation and company records thoroughly and accurately
- Perform daily cleaning and light maintenance of machinery and equipment
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures and wear the required PPE
- Maintain a clean, organized, and orderly work area
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and customers
- Provide occasional after-hours service support as needed
- Ensure completed work meets or exceeds customer, company, and quality standards
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 5–7 years of hands-on manual machining experience
- Ability to read, write, and communicate fluently in English
- Strong understanding of industrial mechanical equipment
- Proficient with manual engine lathes, vertical milling machines, drill presses, saws (vertical and horizontal), hydraulic presses, broaches, and grinders
