Title: Maintenance Technician lead
Location:  Summit IL
Shift & Hours: 3rd Shift 11pm - 7am                   
Pay Rate: Union $40.92/hr.   
Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO, 401K  

The Team Leader will oversee the production line, ensuring the team’s overall quality and productivity results. The position involves performing packaging material format changes, on-line repairs, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance on packaging equipment.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Perform all equipment SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) as required.
  2. Make necessary adjustments to ensure proper transfer of bottles, caps, and corrugated materials through the cleaner, filler, capper, case former, and packer.
  3. Conduct all quality control checks in accordance with company policy, assisting Line Operators in correcting deficiencies as required.
  4. Change filters and oil flow valves for scheduled product changeovers and control inlet oil and outlet to the dump tank.
  5. For bottle size changeovers, correctly change cleaner, filler, capper, labeler, and rails to case packer.
  6. Change cap sorter bowl and code dater for bottle and case and assist the Materials Coordinator in correctly changing the case packer, all within an hour.
  7. Perform preventative maintenance programs and lubrication. Generate future corrective action lists to minimize future downtime.
  8. Provide aid to Line Operators and the Materials Coordinator to ensure proper amounts of package supplies for all changeovers.
  9. Perform breakdown repairs on equipment from truck unloading through palletizing operations.
  10. Ensure proper line area GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) and sanitation are maintained.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned by the Operations Supervisor.
Education/Experience/Skill/Competence Requirements:
  • Education: High School diploma required.
  • Experience: Must be an experienced operator with the ability to perform higher-level mechanical adjustments.
  • Skills/Competence:
    • Demonstrate team leadership by providing information, coaching, and counseling to ensure team effectiveness.
    • Help identify areas for improvement to enhance team efficiency.
    • Basic computer knowledge and skills.
