Job Description
Location: North Chicago, IL
- Operate steam boilers and ancillary equipment according to local and state standards.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair steam boilers and ancillary equipment, including compressors, generators, and pumps.
- Provide coverage as a Stationary Engineer when needed at the facility.
- Perform preventive maintenance on steam boilers and ancillary equipment.
- Troubleshoot equipment and systems, including pneumatic and plumbing problems related to boilers.
- Organize and maintain equipment, department spare parts inventory, and supplies inventories.
- Maintain daily logs, equipment documentation, PM documentation, work orders, pass downs, and time sheets.
- Assist plant maintenance as required.
- Inspect, maintain, and repair all boiler and related equipment to reduce waste and maintain efficiency.
- Perform other duties and jobs as assigned.
- High School Diploma; some college or certification preferred.
- Preferred experience maintaining facility boilers and chillers.
- Licensed Stationary Engineer is helpful.
- 5+ years of experience as a maintenance mechanic for a large facility.
