Hire Type: Direct Hire - $65-$75k per year plus bonus depending on experience

Shift:  Days (6am-6:15pm) | Nights (6:00pm -6:15am)

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for repairs on injection molding equipment, robots, setups, changeovers, adjustments, maintenance, repair and operations of various types of assembly, subassembly, printing, and/or packaging machines. The company scope includes scientific injection molding processing operations and automation equipment in the manufacture of components and devices into FDA regulated markets. This is a high-speed and a controlled manufacturing environment (CME).


Job Duties:
  1. Read, use and interpret measuring devices, gauges and inspection tools. 
  2. Perform all required necessary preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment. 
  3. Check and maintain quality of product being produced by identifying acceptable and non-acceptable product in accordance with Quality policies and procedures. 
  4. Actively participate on teams and offer suggestions for improvement. 
  5. Answer machine alarms as they occur and identify and address the root cause. 
  6. Follow all 5S guidelines 
  7. Perform and document inspections per cGMP for work instruction sheet, on device history sheet records, and work instruction sheet tables 
  8. Follow all Lock Out/Tag Out rules 
  9. Diagnose and troubleshoot any pneumatic or mechanical malfunction on a variety of machines 
  10. Adjusts assembly machine units for major/minor lot production operations following department specification 
  11. Repair and maintain electrical controls on equipment (molding, assembly and packaging machines), including servicing, repairing, adjusting, and testing machines and devices primarily on the basis of electronic principles 
  12. Upload programs to controls in the events of program loss or CPU replacement 
  13. Repair robot arms and controls, including replacing bad boards, motors, encoders, etc 
  14. Calibrate and adjust robot pick and place locations if needed 
  15. Conduct TPM activities as required 
  16. Input Maintenance work orders into the Computerized Maintenance Management Software (SAP) 
  17. Monitor processes, show an awareness of issues and demonstrate corrective actions to address those issues 
  18. Perform weekly, monthly and as required preventive maintenance (PM) 
  19. Perform root cause analysis for safety, quality, and processing issues 
  20. Suggest ways to improve the efficiency and safety of our work and environment Comply with all company policies 
  21. Must be able to fluently operate presses, robots and auxiliary equipment to diagnose malfunctions, and to verify repairs. 
  22. Troubleshoots and locates the source of the problem by observing the operation of the equipment. 
  23. Brainstorms with other maintenance personnel, and outside technical support as needed. 
  24. Restores damaged or malfunctioning equipment to operation by repairing, replacing and or adjusting electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. 
  25. Controls down time by scheduling repairs with the Maintenance Supervisor. 
  26. Maintains good communications with Maintenance Supervisor, 
  27. Maintains ongoing list of projects with timeline to be addressed and completed. 
  28. Assists other maintenance personnel as needed, 
  29. Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results. 
  30. Ensures the work is completed with technical excellence, and in an efficient and cost-effective fashion. 
  31. Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications:
 
  1. Must have 3 or more years of experience in a technical, hands-on position 
  2. Strong math, reading and communication skills required 
  3. Experience with injection molding required 
  4. Knowledge of PLC programming and troubleshooting (AB, Koyo, Omron, Mitsubishi, etc.) 
  5. Experience in hydraulics and pneumatics required 
  6. Computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications required and SAP experience preferred 
  7. Ability to work independently from verbal and/or written instructions required 
  8. Must understand Lean Manufacturing concepts 
  9. Must be mechanically inclined and have the ability to use basic hand tools 
  10. Must have strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
