Job Description
Overview:
On a daily basis, you will be responsible for conducting scheduled preventive maintenance checks, performing calibrations, and setting up machinery for upcoming production runs. This involves a deep understanding of equipment manuals, schematics, and safety protocols to ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP). A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to responding to unplanned breakdowns and equipment failures during active production runs. You will be expected to diagnose issues quickly, prioritize repairs, and coordinate with production supervisors to minimize downtime and ensure seamless operations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment, including preparing, setting up, and recalibrating molding equipment and machinery.
- Serve as a role model for safe work practices, prioritizing your safety and the safety of others.
- Master all necessary areas of the quality system and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
- Conduct mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic repairs on production and support equipment.
- Follow the preventative maintenance plan for molding equipment on a scheduled basis or per customer requests.
- Complete maintenance issues as they arise and document each assignment thoroughly.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs and scheduled maintenance repairs on production equipment.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Work independently on assigned tasks and accept direction on given assignments.
- Resolve auxiliary equipment issues promptly.
Requirements:
- Completion of an accredited two-year technical college program or a four-year university program in a related field of study, with three to five years of related experience or equivalent on-the-job training.
- Ability to perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
- Understanding of basic hydraulic and electrical systems, along with proper safety practices.
- Familiarity with electrical and hydraulic prints.
- Basic knowledge of ladder logic or PLC programming.
- Comprehensive understanding of general safety knowledge within the work environment.
