Job Summary:
- The Maintenance Technician is responsible for carrying out general maintenance, repair, and upkeep of facility equipment, production machinery, and building structures. This position also involves supporting grounds maintenance activities and ensuring all tasks are performed in accordance with OSHA, EPA, and Hazmat safety standards.
Job Duties:
- Perform basic troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of industrial electrical systems and controls.
- Maintain and repair vacuum, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
- Service and maintain various types of processing and packaging equipment.
- Assist with the installation of equipment under supervision.
- Operate hand tools and machine shop equipment to measure, cut, and drill components within specified tolerances.
- Perform welding on stainless and carbon steel as needed.
- Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) in a food production environment.
- Carry out structural repairs on buildings and facility grounds.
- Interpret and work from basic electrical schematics and maintenance documentation.
- Execute preventive maintenance activities as scheduled.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support maintenance operations.
Qualifications:
- Preferably 5 years of experience in a maintenance or related technical field.
- Prior experience in a meat processing or food manufacturing environment is advantageous.
- Knowledge of FSIS and USDA regulations is a plus.
- Strong mathematical aptitude, including the use of fractions, ratios, and percentages.
- Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to follow written, oral, and diagrammed instructions.
- Ability to contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.
