Title: Maintenance Technician
Location: Franklin Park, IL
Shift & Hours:
- 1st is 5am-3pm
- 2nd is 1pm -12pm
Pay: $34-37/hr
Overtime: about 15 hours per week. Weekend as well, rotating.

Job Description Summary: We are seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing general maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and property structures, as well as conducting grounds maintenance. All tasks must be carried out in compliance with EPA, Hazmat, and OSHA safety regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform basic troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of industrial electrical power and controls systems.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain vacuum systems.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical systems.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain processing equipment.
- Install processing and packaging equipment as needed, under direct supervision.
- Measure and cut/drill within established tolerances using hand tools and machine shop equipment.
- Weld stainless steel and carbon steel as required.
- Adhere to Food Manufacturing GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices).
- Perform repairs on buildings as necessary.
- Read and interpret basic electrical schematics.
- Perform preventative maintenance programs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills / Requirements:
- Preferred: 5 years of Maintenance experience or related experience and/or training.
- Experience in a meat manufacturing environment and knowledge of FSIS/USDA regulations is a plus.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts, including fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
- Strong problem-solving abilities for practical situations.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or scheduled form.
- Maintain a positive work environment and work well with team members.
