Job Summary:
  • As a crucial member of our team, the Maintenance Supervisor will report directly to the Maintenance Manager. In this role, you will take charge of planning and overseeing the maintenance staff's work to ensure the facility operates safely and efficiently. Your responsibilities will involve supervising the upkeep of buildings, grounds, and the essential machinery and processing equipment required to maintain facility operations. Additionally, you may need to perform maintenance duties yourself, as needed. Your commitment to adhering to company policies and procedures will play a key role in maintaining our high operational standards.

Job Duties:
  • Ensure an adequate inventory of tools, parts, and supplies to effectively maintain the facility and property.
  • Implement and maintain systems for monitoring and tracking service requests, preventive maintenance tasks, compliance with safety and Hazard Communications program requirements, as well as supplies and parts inventories.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked parts room and shop areas, in accordance with company visual control, 7's, audit-ready standards, and programs.
  • Assist the Maintenance Manager in preparing yearly and monthly maintenance operating budgets aligned with facility objectives.
  • Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager to adhere to budgeted cost parameters.
  • Handle the ordering and purchasing of supplies, equipment, and contract work, following the required purchasing and bidding procedures.
  • Ensure exceptional customer service standards and work closely with the maintenance staff to address production, processing, and facility maintenance equipment issues promptly and effectively.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the facility property and grounds, ensuring necessary maintenance and repairs are carried out.
  • Solicit bids for outside contract work and oversee and supervise outside contractors.
  • Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager to hire, train, and develop on-site maintenance employees in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Create maintenance employee schedules based on forecasted workloads.
  • Maintain facility drawings/maps that clearly identify all utility cut-offs, hydrant locations, gas mains, and other essential safety information.
  • Co-lead regular on-site safety meetings with the Maintenance Manager to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local safety regulations, including OSHA, EPA, Workers'
  • Compensation, and Hazard Communications. Properly label, store, and handle hazardous materials.
  • Respond to facility service requests and complete facility maintenance tasks. Perform repairs and maintenance on facility plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and security systems.
  • Oversee and maintain the computerized maintenance management system to track work orders, spare parts, and equipment maintenance history promptly and accurately.

Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline is preferred, or a minimum of six years of experience in a leadership role; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Notify supervision of any necessary repairs or adjustments that could impact product quality or food safety.
  • Adhere to the handling and usage of the color-coded container policy while in Production Areas.
  • Fulfill all duties required to meet Company, Customer, and/or Government requirements and standards as prioritized by the Company.
  • Proactively take action to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities related to Food Safety and product quality, processes, quality system, or safety system.
  • Identify and document any problems related to Food Safety and the Quality of ingredients, processes, quality system, or safety system.
  • Control the further processing or delivery of nonconforming products concerning Food Safety and Quality issues until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition is rectified.
