Job Summary:
Supervise maintenance mechanics and electricians. Plan, schedule and execute all maintenance work
orders. Constantly work to reduce maintenance-related machine downtime. Ensure change overs are
completed effectively and efficiently. Assist the engineering group on design reviews and project
execution. Run the preventative maintenance program. Ensure employees are trained and perform
maintenance best practices.

Job Duties:
  • Oversee all day-to-day operations of the maintenance department.
    • Work with the maintenance planner to ensure overall machine reliability through an effective preventive
    maintenance program.
    • Ensure employees are properly using the work order management system.
    • Ensure change overs are completed as effectively and efficiently as possible.
    • Oversee the storeroom and ensure that adequate spare parts are on hand.
    • Schedule and oversee maintenance on production equipment, printing equipment (SV Plant only), building and
    grounds.
    • Train employees on up-to-date maintenance best practices.
    • Assist production and process groups in troubleshooting machinery to minimize downtime.
    • Assist Engineering group on capital project reviews and scheduling coordination.
    • Assist Engineering group on new tooling design reviews.
    • Oversee contractors working on expense projects.
    • Track expenses weekly and ensure department spending is within budget.
    • Numerically identify and inventory all equipment and support equipment.
    • Generate, analyze, and maintain records on all equipment.
    • Generate monthly maintenance status reports.
    • Perform administrative duties including performance reviews, attendance calendars, disciplinary action, training
    documentation, etc.
    • Maintain housekeeping standards.
    • Adhere to safety rules, regulations and programs so that a safe environment is maintained.
    • Responsible for investigating and resolving any food packaging safety problems identified and reported by other
    employees and also responsible for notifying plant management of same.
    • Responsible for ensuring that all employees follow company GMP, sanitation, pre-requisite programs, chemical
    control and food safety plans and policies.

Qualifications:
  • Associates Degree or equivalent technical experience.
    • Minimum 6 years’ experience in equipment maintenance in a manufacturing environment, with 3 years of
    progressively responsible overall maintenance experience.
    • Some experience with welding, plumbing, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electronics.
    • Some experience with printing equipment maintenance (SV Plant only)
    • Excellent communication skills.
    • Strong project management skills.
    • Basic understanding of finance and budgeting procedures.
    • Intermediate computer skills. Must be trained in and follow company policies on GMP, sanitation, pre-
    requisite programs, chemical control and food safety plans and policies.
    • Must be competent to carry out food packaging safety and quality responsibilities.
