Job Summary:
  • We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead a team of technicians in maintaining and optimizing equipment uptime within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.  This role requires a strong blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to safety.  The successful candidate will be responsible for managing work assignments, training, performance evaluations, and driving continuous improvement in maintenance operations.

Job Duties:
  • Supervise and direct a team of maintenance technicians specializing in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Diagnose complex equipment malfunctions and guide technicians in troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Manage work schedules, assign tasks, and monitor the performance of maintenance staff.
  • Train, coach, and mentor technicians to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and industry-specific requirements.
  • Manage spare parts inventory and requisition necessary supplies.
  • Collaborate with production teams to schedule maintenance activities and minimize disruptions to operations.
  • Analyze production schedules and estimate worker-hour requirements for maintenance tasks.
  • Interpret technical documentation, including blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to maintenance procedures, equipment performance, and product quality.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including time, materials, and equipment history.
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment for the maintenance team.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in food processing or a related industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of industrial electrical systems, including motor controls, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
  • Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with robotics and related programming is a plus.
  • Knowledge of welding, refrigeration, and plumbing is preferred.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and manage a team of technicians.
  • Strong commitment to safety and compliance.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) is required.
