Job Overview:
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing maintenance technicians and ensuring the efficient operation of a 24/7 bakery environment. This role involves supervising and assisting in equipment repairs, breakdowns, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance. The Maintenance Supervisor plays a key role in ensuring smooth operations, minimizing downtime, and maintaining production equipment.
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing maintenance technicians and ensuring the efficient operation of a 24/7 bakery environment. This role involves supervising and assisting in equipment repairs, breakdowns, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance. The Maintenance Supervisor plays a key role in ensuring smooth operations, minimizing downtime, and maintaining production equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and provide technical expertise in troubleshooting and repairing equipment breakdowns.
- Prepare technician schedules to ensure 24/7 line coverage and oversee preventative maintenance activities.
- Recommend and allocate overtime as necessary to support operational needs.
- Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager to document plant needs for the fiscal year, including equipment repair or replacement costs.
- Maintain and track repair schedules for equipment and ensure timely execution of maintenance tasks.
- Manage department performance measures, including visual controls, and regularly report progress to the Maintenance Manager.
- Ensure compliance with all safety standards and maintenance protocols.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering is preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, including leadership experience.
- Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) and electrical troubleshooting.
- Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems and the PSM Standard preferred.
- Expertise in maintenance/engineering, including hydraulics, mechanics, process control, and electrical systems.
- Proficiency in using Excel and Word for managing reports and spreadsheets.
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to manage a team in a fast-paced environment.
