Maintenance Supervisor 
Shifts available: 1st & 2nd Shifts 
Location: Chicago, IL        
Pay Rate: $100-$120k plus a  2-4% bonus
Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO, 401K  
 

Summary: The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating the daily maintenance and repair activities within a fast-paced confectionery manufacturing environment. This role ensures the efficient production of high-quality products while meeting safety, quality, and cost requirements. The Maintenance Supervisor will plan and assign work, enforce company policies and procedures, and recommend improvements to maintenance methods, equipment, and working conditions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise hourly bargaining unit maintenance employees, providing clear communication, training, and enforcement of company philosophy, policies, and expectations.
  • Ensure compliance with all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), safety standards, and housekeeping requirements.
  • Maintain clear communication with management regarding developments, challenges, and areas for improvement.
  • Foster the development of a strong maintenance team through performance management tools and processes.
  • Create and maintain a positive and collaborative working environment that supports continuous improvement, aligns with company values, and ensures fair and respectful treatment of all team members.
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or at least 5 years of experience as a Maintenance Supervisor in an automated food manufacturing environment.
  • Flexibility to work any assigned shift, including weekends and overtime as needed.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical equipment design, fabrication, power transmission components, and machine preventative maintenance.
  • Proficiency in reading mechanical blueprints, machine drawings, electrical diagrams, and understanding PLC programs to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment-related issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to resolve employee issues professionally and empathetically.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to develop action plans and make sound business decisions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, and experience using a CMMS system and ERP systems such as Oracle or SAP.
  • Ability to pass a post-offer physical, drug test, and background check.
