Job Summary:
Job Duties:
- Requests quotations and place purchase orders, approved by the Director of Supply Chain, for parts and supplies that are requested electronically or from mechanics and supervisors to suppliers.
- Assists mechanics and supervisors with emergency orders through Manufacturers’ Tech support, customer service, parts departments, drawings and instruction manuals on the internet.
- Sources parts, manufacturers, and distributors through available resources.
- Assists with receiving and part storage.
- Fills in for MRO during vacations or absences.
- Assists with receiving/inspection of maintenance parts to be distributed or stored. This includes recording shortages, labeling and ID parts, and handling any discrepancies as needed.
- Acts as liaison between the vendors involved in our organization’s bin stocking programs.
- Prepares bill of ladings and coordinates with receiving department the maintenance incoming and outgoing (motors for repair from outside contacts & Return Goods Authorization exchanges).
- Completes all necessary paperwork needed to fulfill purchases or repairs.
- Generates a weekly status update for pending quotes and purchase orders.
- Meets with suppliers as needed to investigate sources and pricing as required.
- Assists in inventory cycle counts.
- Participates in sensory training and evaluation to help ensure the highest quality of our products.
- Suggests ways to control labor and supply costs as well as improve processes.
- Ensures that all work activities are performed with attention to the highest standards for quality, safety and compliance with all appropriate legal and food safety requirements and a focus on continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- High school – GED – or equivalent – some college education preferredAbility to work overtime, irregular hours or rotating shifts.
- Previous experience in a purchasing environment preferred.
- Ability to speak, write and understand English.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, formulas, and policy and procedures manuals.
- Ability to write standard information into related paperwork.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to establish trust and credibility with employees.
- Sound technical skills, logical ability, and strong problem analysis and resolutions skills.
