Job Summary

The Maintenance Rebuyer is responsible for ordering and obtaining material and services as required from the CMMS system or authorized requesters and ensuring that the delivery requirements are met for the items that are ordered.


Job Duties:

  • Requests quotations and place purchase orders, approved by the Director of Supply Chain, for parts and supplies that are requested electronically or from mechanics and supervisors to suppliers.
  • Assists mechanics and supervisors with emergency orders through Manufacturers’ Tech support, customer service, parts departments, drawings and instruction manuals on the internet.
  • Sources parts, manufacturers, and distributors through available resources.
  • Assists with receiving and part storage.
  • Fills in for MRO during vacations or absences.
  • Assists with receiving/inspection of maintenance parts to be distributed or stored.  This includes recording shortages, labeling and ID parts, and handling any discrepancies as needed.
  • Acts as liaison between the vendors involved in our organization’s bin stocking programs.
  • Prepares bill of ladings and coordinates with receiving department the maintenance incoming and outgoing (motors for repair from outside contacts & Return Goods Authorization exchanges).
  • Completes all necessary paperwork needed to fulfill purchases or repairs.
  • Generates a weekly status update for pending quotes and purchase orders.
  • Meets with suppliers as needed to investigate sources and pricing as required. 
  • Assists in inventory cycle counts.
  • Participates in sensory training and evaluation to help ensure the highest quality of our products. 
  • Suggests ways to control labor and supply costs as well as improve processes.
  • Ensures that all work activities are performed with attention to the highest standards for quality, safety and compliance with all appropriate legal and food safety requirements and a focus on continuous improvement. 


  •  High school – GED – or equivalent – some college education preferredAbility to work overtime, irregular hours or rotating shifts.
  • Previous experience in a purchasing environment preferred.
  • Ability to speak, write and understand English.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, formulas, and policy and procedures manuals.
  • Ability to write standard information into related paperwork.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 
  • Ability to establish trust and credibility with employees. 
  • Sound technical skills, logical ability, and strong problem analysis and resolutions skills.
