Job Summary:
  • The Maintenance Planner / Scheduler ensures efficient planning, scheduling, and execution of all maintenance tasks, utilizing personnel with the appropriate skill sets. Overseeing the Parts Crib and Parts Room Clerk, this role ensures organization and professionalism. Handling both planned and unplanned maintenance in a fast-paced food manufacturing setting, the Planner / Scheduler collaborates with the Maintenance Manager to maintain preventive maintenance files. Coordination with the Parts Buyer is crucial to manage inventory and replacement parts effectively. Success in this role relies on seamless coordination among team members.

Job Duties:
  • Manages the Parts Crib and Parts Clerk, ensuring accurate inventory control and readiness for required tasks.
  • Enforces record-keeping protocols for the Parts Crib, maintaining meticulous documentation.
  • Collaborates with the Maintenance Manager to update and organize the preventive maintenance database.
  • Plans and schedules both planned and unplanned repairs, along with preventive maintenance activities.
  • Ensures proper kitting of preventive maintenance work and accurate documentation for all work orders.
  • Maintains comprehensive records of maintenance work using designated systems.
  • Develops the Parts Clerk to provide backup support during Planner / Scheduler absences.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent with a GPA of 3.5 or higher, supplemented by mechanical or technical coursework.
  • Preferably, post-high school education in relevant subjects or a minimum of four years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing parts, tools, and terminology, with a preference for candidates with a background in the food industry.
  • Proficient in computer operations, including ERP systems, Microsoft applications, and manufacturing systems and controls.
  • Previous experience in people management roles.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to provide clear directions.
  • Ability to maintain focus and uphold an organized and professional environment.
  • Flexibility to adapt to varying work hours, occasionally exceeding forty hours per week.
