Job Summary:
- The Maintenance Planner Role improves work force productivity and quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning, scheduling, and coordination of maintenance resources, parts, materials, and equipment access.
Job Duties:
- Ensuring that safety is considered in development of every job plan.
- Long-range, as well as short-range, planning.
- Scope work and record decisions on planning checklist.
- Determine level of planning for each new work order.
- Assign proper coding during work initiation and planning phases.
- Identify and develop preventive maintenance routines and task lists.
- Supply chain coordination.
- Creating purchase requisitions for planned work to include services and materials.
- Contact vendors to check availability of needed special equipment.
- Creation of stock reservations for planned work.
- Attend weekly scheduling meeting.
- Development of planned work for the weekly work schedule.
- Estimating labor hours for each work order needed to perform work.
- Communicating work planning package information to maintenance supervisor.
- Development of job plan library for recurring tasks.
- Keep maintenance manager informed of abnormal or critical situations and to seek advice on matters outside the planner's knowledge or authority.
- Review work order feedback of planning function to improve future planning efforts.
- Preparation of budgeting, tracking, and analysis documents.
- Exchanging common work planning information with other maintenance planners.
Qualifications:
- Three to five years of maintenance experience
- Formal Maintenance Planner training
- For development of job plans, a Maintenance Planner is able to:
- Use and understand piping and instrumentation diagrams
- Use and understand equipment drawings
- Interpret Predictive Maintenance reporting
- Use and understand hydraulic and electrical schematics
