Title: Maintenance Mechanic
Location: Near Itasca, IL
Hire Type: Contract to Hire
Shift: Rotating 12 Hr. Day/Night Shift
Pay: $25-$30/hr.

Sterling Engineering is looking for a Maintenance Mechanic for a leading manufacturer of packaging near Itasca, IL. This is a great opportunity to work with a client that loves to promote from within.
 
Job Duties:
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on molding, auxiliary, and support equipment.
  • Analyze, set up, and maintain equipment for safe, continuous operation.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain mechanical systems, molding equipment, and construction-related machinery.
  • Experience with refrigeration, drying, conveying, fluid pumps, pneumatic circuits, welding/fabrication.
  • Read electrical schematics and troubleshoot circuits.
  • Work with PLC installations, motors, relays, and control circuits.
  • Read hydraulic schematics and troubleshoot hydraulic circuits.
  • Repair, change, or upgrade hydraulic equipment, ensuring safety guards are in place.
  • Handle production breakdowns and emergencies.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent 
  • 7+ years of maintenance experience.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing maintenance role
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics
