Sterling Engineering is looking for a Maintenance Mechanic for a 2nd/ 3rd shift opportunity with a leading manufacturer. This is a hands-on role requiring strong electrical and mechanical aptitude, ideal for someone experienced in troubleshooting and maintaining industrial packaging and facilities equipment.

Job Duties:
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment issues involving electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Rebuild and replace components such as motors, gearboxes, bearings, clutches, and electrical units.
  • Interpret and work from schematics, wiring diagrams, manuals, prints, sketches, and maintenance procedures.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production and facility support equipment.
  • Work individually or within a team environment to resolve mechanical and electrical breakdowns.
  • Maintain high standards for safety and equipment performance.
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Solid knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical systems.
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems including AC (480–120v) and DC (low-voltage controls).
  • Effective troubleshooting skills in both electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Must supply own set of basic mechanic’s hand tools.
  • Comfortable lifting up to 55 lbs and standing/walking for 80–90% of shift.
  • Self-starter who thrives in fast-paced environments.
